After a ten-year hiatus, the Gruppo Gamma Genesis is back. The 2026 collection retains the bold 44mm proportions and unmistakable sandwich-dial identity of the original while introducing refined construction, Swiss automatic movements and distinctive new dial materials.
Mi-Watch is an authorised Gruppo Gamma dealer in Europe. Selected Genesis 2026 references are now available to preorder, with expected shipping in November 2026 from our European Union warehouse.

The return of a Gruppo Gamma signature
The Genesis is closely connected to the design language that made Gruppo Gamma recognisable among independent-watch enthusiasts: a substantial stainless-steel case, a highly legible sandwich dial and generous Swiss Super-LumiNova. Inspired by a rare military prototype said to date from the 1950s, its combination of large cardinal numerals and dot minute markers has become a signature of the brand.
For 2026, the collection combines that familiar character with a box-shaped domed sapphire crystal, 200 metres of water resistance and a choice of Swiss ETA 2824-2 or Sellita SW200-1 automatic movements.
Genesis GG-11 to GG-16: quick comparison
Start with the feature you want to look at every day. GG-11 keeps the classic black dial; GG-12 adds a date; GG-13 and GG-14 emphasise dial texture. GG-15 and GG-16 pair aged steel with warmer colour or luminous carbon. The crystallised titanium is a dial material: these are steel-cased watches, not titanium-cased alternatives.
| Model | Main visual distinction | Automatic movement |
|---|---|---|
| GG-11 | Black sandwich dial, brushed steel | ETA 2824-2 |
| GG-12 | Black sandwich dial with date | Sellita SW200-1 |
| GG-13 | Black crystallised-titanium dial | Sellita SW200-1 |
| GG-14 | Natural-tone crystallised-titanium dial | Sellita SW200-1 |
| GG-15 | Tropical-brown dial, aged steel | Sellita SW200-1 |
| GG-16 | Luminous forged-carbon dial, aged steel | Sellita SW200-1 |
Availability checked 22 September 2026: GG-12, GG-15 and GG-16 are sold out. Check the linked product pages for the latest status before planning an order. The model descriptions below remain useful for comparison and do not imply availability.
GG-13 or GG-14: which titanium dial should I choose?
Choose GG-13 if you prefer a darker dial presentation; consider GG-14 if you want the brighter natural tone. Compare the photographs in similar lighting and pay attention to contrast with the hands, not just the pattern. The individual crystalline pattern varies, so a reference photograph cannot show the exact grain of every delivered dial.
Is aged steel the same as bronze patina?
No. The aged-steel finish on GG-15 and GG-16 gives a weathered appearance to a steel case. It is a different material choice from the bronze cases in our bronze watch and patina guide. Choose bronze if its changing surface is part of the appeal; choose a Genesis for its steel case and the dial treatment you prefer.
Will the 44mm Genesis fit a smaller wrist?
The most useful starting point is its 53mm lug-to-lug length, alongside the 44mm case diameter. Compare that length with a watch you already wear comfortably. A 53mm span may project beyond the top of a narrower wrist even if you are used to a similar case diameter. Wrist shape, the way the lugs turn down and strap adjustment all affect the result.
- Record your wrist circumference at your normal wearing position.
- Measure the length between the outer lug tips of your current watch and note whether it already reaches the edges of your wrist.
- Check strap length and hole placement separately. Genesis has 24mm lug width, which is not a wrist-size rating.
- Allow for the domed crystal when thinking about shirt cuffs. Confirm total height if clearance is important to you.
For a more compact comparison, the Vanguard AG-10 is listed at 42mm diameter and 48.5mm lug-to-lug: its case spans 4.5mm less along the wrist. That makes it a useful alternative to investigate, not a guarantee of fit.
Ask Mi-Watch about fit with your wrist measurement and a comfortable watch for comparison. Product photographs show design details; an on-wrist picture is more useful for sizing when the wearer’s circumference, exact reference and strap are stated. We do not assign a minimum wrist size from unmeasured photographs.
Genesis ownership and preorder questions
Is the preorder deposit the full watch price?
No. For example, the GG-11 listing shows a €409 deposit plus a €400 balance, making a €809 preorder total. The balance-only listing is for an existing preorder; it does not purchase a complete watch by itself. Compare the full total, amount due now and delivery terms for your chosen reference.
What happens if I leave an automatic watch unworn?
It can stop when its stored power runs down. Follow the movement instructions to wind and set it before wearing it again. Automatic winding depends on wear; it does not mean the watch will run indefinitely in a drawer.
Can I use the supplied leather strap for swimming?
Use the correct water-use guidance for the watch and a suitable water-friendly strap. Gruppo Gamma advises securing the screw-down crown and avoiding leather straps in water; see its official ownership FAQ. A water-resistance rating does not make the leather strap waterproof.
Is November delivery guaranteed?
November 2026 is the expected shipping window currently stated for these preorders. Treat it as an estimate and check the live listing or contact us if you need the watch for a particular date.

Genesis GG-11: the classic black sandwich dial

Genesis GG-11 is the closest expression of the classic Genesis formula. It pairs a brushed 316L stainless-steel case with a black sandwich dial and is powered by the sought-after Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. The preorder deposit is €409, with a €400 balance due before shipping, for a special preorder total of €809.
Genesis GG-12: black dial with date

Genesis GG-12 adds a practical date display to the black sandwich dial and uses the Swiss Sellita SW200-1. GG-12 is sold out. Contact Mi-Watch to ask about alternatives or future availability.
Genesis GG-13: black crystallised titanium

Genesis GG-13 introduces a black crystallised-titanium sandwich dial. Heat treatment, controlled cooling and precision etching reveal the material’s natural crystalline structure, giving every dial an individual grain pattern. It is powered by the Sellita SW200-1. The €409 deposit and €400 balance produce a special preorder total of €809.
Genesis GG-14: crystallised titanium in its natural tone

Genesis GG-14 showcases the crystalline texture of titanium in a brighter natural finish. The unusual material gives the sandwich dial depth while ensuring that no two examples look exactly the same. A Swiss Sellita SW200-1 powers the watch. The preorder deposit is €409 and the special preorder total is €809.
Genesis GG-15: aged steel and tropical brown

Genesis GG-15 combines Gruppo Gamma’s weathered aged-steel finish with a warm tropical-brown sandwich dial. GG-15 is sold out. Contact Mi-Watch if you would like to ask about alternatives; further availability is not guaranteed.
Genesis GG-16: aged steel and luminous forged carbon

Genesis GG-16 is the most unconventional model in the collection. Its aged-steel case surrounds a lume-infused forged-carbon sandwich dial with naturally varied marbling and luminous streaks visible in the dark. It uses the Sellita SW200-1. GG-16 is sold out. Its listed preorder pricing was a €445 deposit plus €400 balance, for a total of €845.
