Independent watches for enthusiasts

Independent watch brands can offer a clearer design identity and smaller production volumes than many mainstream manufacturers. Gruppo Gamma, founded in Singapore in 2013, is known for mechanical watches influenced by military and maritime instruments. Venturo takes a more contemporary approach to field, dive and travel watches while retaining practical specifications.

Mi-Watch.it has worked with Gruppo Gamma since 2015 and offers European customers a direct source for authentic watches, specialist product guidance and warranty support. Our catalogue includes current releases, selected discontinued references, limited editions, preorder opportunities and straps or accessories.

Compare the main watch collections

Genesis

The Genesis is the foundation of the Gruppo Gamma story. The 2026 generation uses a bold 44 mm cushion case, 200 metres of water resistance, Swiss automatic movements and sandwich dials ranging from classic black to crystallised titanium and luminous forged carbon. It is designed for collectors who want the strongest historic military-diver character.

Vanguard

The Vanguard combines early frogman-watch inspiration with an industrial tool-watch design. Available references span a 43 mm Swiss-powered generation and newer 42 mm models with Japanese Miyota automatics, brushed or weathered steel and distinctive forged-carbon dials.

Peacemaker

The Peacemaker offers Swiss automatic or hand-wound movements in steel, aged steel and CuSn8 bronze. Most current models measure 43 mm, use 24 mm straps and provide 200 metres of water resistance. Bronze versions develop a natural patina that makes every watch increasingly individual.

Venturo and other collections

Venturo watches provide a practical alternative for buyers seeking contemporary field, dive or GMT designs. Selected Nexus, Divemaster and limited-edition models may also appear when stock is available. Because discontinued pieces are scarce, live stock information on the individual product page should always be treated as authoritative.

Mechanical movements: Swiss and Japanese

The catalogue includes Swiss ETA and Sellita movements as well as Japanese Miyota and Seiko-family calibres. Movement origin alone does not determine whether a watch is right for you. Consider the complete design, functions, case proportions, serviceability and how you intend to wear it.

Automatic movements wind while the watch is worn and can normally also be wound manually. Hand-wound movements require regular winding and create a more deliberate interaction. Power reserve and accuracy vary by calibre; exact specifications are stated on each product page.

Materials and finishing

Most cases are made from 316L stainless steel in polished, brushed or deliberately aged finishes. Bronze Peacemakers use CuSn8, a copper-and-tin alloy that changes colour through natural oxidation. Forged carbon and crystallised titanium appear primarily as dial materials, creating patterns that vary from one piece to another.

Sapphire crystal is used across current premium models because of its high scratch resistance. Sandwich dials add depth by placing luminous material beneath a cut upper layer, while Swiss Super-LumiNova supports low-light readability.

Choosing the right dimensions

Case diameter is only one measurement. Lug-to-lug length determines how far the watch extends across the wrist, thickness affects how it sits under a cuff, and lug width influences strap proportions. Current collections range from approximately 42 to 44 mm, with lug-to-lug lengths around 49.5 to 53 mm, but earlier models can differ.

Compare all dimensions with a watch you already know rather than selecting by diameter alone. A cushion case can distribute its size differently from a conventional round case. Contact us if you would like help comparing two references.

Water resistance and everyday use

Water-resistance ratings in the catalogue commonly range from 100 to 200 metres. A rating assumes correctly operated crowns and seals in good condition. Water resistance is not permanent, so periodic pressure testing is sensible for a watch used regularly in water. Leather straps should normally be kept dry even when the watch case is water resistant.

Frequently asked questions

Are all watches shown in stock?

No. The catalogue can include in-stock products, preorders and sold-out references retained for information. The availability message on each product page is the current source of truth.

Which collection is best for a smaller wrist?

The newer 42 mm Vanguard, with a 49.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement, is generally the most compact current Gruppo Gamma option listed here. Wrist shape and strap choice still affect fit.

Do all Gruppo Gamma watches use Swiss movements?

No. Some use Swiss ETA or Sellita calibres; others use Japanese Miyota movements. We identify movement and origin on the product page so buyers can compare accurately.

What does a preorder deposit mean?

A deposit reserves a future watch and is not the complete price unless the listing explicitly says otherwise. Read the balance, timing and cancellation information on the selected product before checkout.

How long is the warranty?

New Gruppo Gamma watches purchased through Mi-Watch.it include a 24-month warranty against manufacturing defects, subject to the applicable conditions.
